Angel Khaytyan (He/They, Boston, MA) began his training at Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre in Cambridge, Mass. They attended NYU Tisch School of the Arts on a full-tuition scholarship, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance. While at NYU, they performed works by Camille A. Brown and Stephen Petronio, worked with choreographers including Rena Butler and Dwight Rhoden, and trained with companies such as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Gibney, and Yin Yue Dance Company. Upon graduating, Angel joined DanceWorks Chicago under the direction of Julie Nakagawa. While at DanceWorks, Angel toured and performed nationally and internationally, including in Germany and the U.K. There, he performed works by Robert Battle and Demis Volpi and trained with companies such as Ballett Am Rhein in Düsseldorf, Germany, and Rambert Dance in London. Angel is thrilled to be back for his third season with Saint Louis Dance Theatre.
